What a great and unique opportunity to talk about and to discuss the show's sociopoliticial subtexts and metaphors, and to maybe even transport some of those issues, viewpoints and perspectives into real-life politics. Wish I could be there in person. But it's good to know they will record a video of the event, and there's also gonna be a transcript.

Off-Topic: Actually, I've been to the UN myself when I was staying in NYC from early to mid-September of 2003. That visit was one of the, if not the highlight(s) of the whole trip, I must say. The gifts that Japan gave to the UN, those items of debris that were re-collected from the rubble of Hiroshima and Nagasaki after the nuclear bombings did happen, had me reduced to tears - as did the memorial wall dedicated to the victims of the 9/11 attacks, which at that time was located also in the UN building (dunno if it might still be there).

Ich arbeite gerade dran. Unglaublich, daß dieser Real-Player-Mist noch immer genutzt wird. Ich mach ein normales DivX-Avi draus und lade es dann irgendwo hoch.

Ich habe das Panelvideo auch schon in Toronto und auf diversen Direktdownloadseiten gesehen (aber noch nicht reingeschaut). Konkrete Links posten wir hier natürlich nicht. Zumal die Uno wohl mit einem YouTuber kurzen Prozess gemacht hat, nachdem der das Panel hochzuladen versuchte.

Naj, zur Zeit gibt's wenigstens einige klitzekleine Mini-Ausschnitte aus dem Panel auf youtube zu sehen... Olmos spricht darüber, warum er das Wort "Rasse" und alle damit zusammenhängenden oder auch nur ähnlichen Konzepte (das würde dann wohl auch pseudo-liberale, möchtegerntolerante Rassismen wie "Ethnie(n)" / "ethnisch", "Multikulti" etc. beinhalten) als absoluten Bullshit ansieht, der mit Machtverhältnissen und Unterdrückungs- / Ausschluss-Mechanismen wie social othering verknüpft ist und der darum besser heute als morgen aufgegeben werden und aus dem Sprachschatz verschwinden sollte - zum Ende hin wird er stinksauer - und nun ratet mal, was er abschliessend intoniert? - RRRichtig...



Ausserdem noch: Whoopis introduction zum Event, plus Interviews mit UN-Personal und EJO & MMD...
